Spend 30,000 at any other love motel and you could well be disappointed. But if you spend your money here, you just might find yourself charmed by the country-inn feel of this understated property.

Walk by this unusual motel and you'll know you've found something special: it's the building with a hint of urban design. In a city where a dribble of paint down the side of a 25-storey concrete tower is considered architecturally significant, the white stucco exterior with Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem, 'How do I love thee' embossed on the side represents a colossal step forward in thinking. It also sets the 'romantic getaway' theme of this likeable inn. From hallways adorned with green vine on white lattice, to the wicker basket of towels near the door, this place embodies cosiness like few others in the city. The rooms are modest in size and features, so don't expect much in the way of stimulating accoutrements, though the floor-to-ceiling sheet of Plexiglas separating the bedroom and bath does add an element of pizzazz.
