Lonely Planet Review
This simple, no-frills motel is located in Beomildong, a neighbourhood between Nampodong and Seomyeon that's traditionally overlooked by travellers. A five-minute walk to the subway, its midtown location is ideal for travellers or business people looking for a central location that's slightly off the beaten track.
Low budget inns typically have a sleazy reputation with a murky room decor and clientele to match. This place is not like that. The rooms' bright, spacious feel is created by textured ceilings and wall mouldings, modest but up-to-date furnishings and a minimally equipped bath that's larger than it needs to be. Although it may service a wide range of clients, the Jasmine looks like a winner for tourists who spend most of their time exploring. Just five minutes on foot from the subway, the journey could take much longer if you take time to explore the neighbourhood, which is where you'll discover traditional open-air markets, elderly women rolling out noodle dough and shops selling everything from shoes to raw fish in the Jayo market next door.

Author Tip
Simple, down-home cooking is a short walk away at Jobang Myeon Ok, with hearty staples like galbi tang (beef broth soup), an ideal meal for people who aren't fond of spicy food for breakfast. Exit the motel and walk left to the first block.
