Lonely Planet Review
Flaunting rooms that are more spacious and generally better maintained than the majority of Paharganj properties in this price bracket, the Hotel Vishal would have to be up there with Paharganj's most desirable cheapies.
This labyrinth of a place has its rooms spread along winding corridors over several levels. The cheaper rooms have a shared bathroom; all others come with attached bathroom (the bathrooms are tiled and in a fit state). Vishal's rooms are very plain but good-sized and most have beds with reasonably soft mattresses (by Indian standards). Plus - and very importantly - they don't have that irksome walled-in feel that's so common to Paharganj hotels. Most rooms come with a small table and phone, but no television. For a bit extra you'll buy a bit more comfort, such as a cushioned sitting area, but note that some rooms have no windows and can be a bit dark. The more expensive rooms are obviously the Vishal's biggest and brightest offerings.
