Lonely Planet Review

Quotes La Sagrita has just 19 rooms, all neat and clean and with cool marble bathrooms. The standard rooms are a bit small but otherwise OK, each with wall-to-wall carpet, upholstered chairs, a writing desk, colour TV and small wardrobe. The deluxe rooms are larger and have a bigger TV and bathroom. They're furnished in soft tones, some with floral bedspreads and matching curtains. La Sagrita also has two marvellous 'penthouses', which are especially recommended if you're in Delhi for a while; they don't have the cooped-up feel of a regular hotel room. Each has smart wooden floors, a sitting area and small fully equipped kitchen. The hotel has no restaurant, but room service is available.

Author Tip

Wander around the nearby Sunder Nagar Market that has two particularly outstanding teashops: the Regalia Tea House and Mittal Tea House, both of which stock a wide variety of teas and offer complimentary tastings. Afterwards, grab an autorickshaw north to explore the historic Purana Qila, followed by a visit to the superb Crafts Museum, also in this area.

Curious Fact

Wondering how the devil this hotel got its distinctly non-Indian sounding name? Well, the owner cleverly coined it after his beloved father's and mother's names: Sagar and Rita. As for the 'La', that was thrown in merely for a dash of exotica!
