Lonely Planet Review
For a low-key hotel away from the hustle and bustle that is modern-day Delhi, the Maharani Guest House is one of a clutch of medium-sized hotels found in the upmarket suburb of Sunder Nagar. The Maharani has a small rooftop terrace area and although there's no restaurant on the premises, room service is available.
This unruffled 24-room hotel (it doesn't really feel intimate enough to be classified as a guesthouse, despite its name) is fronted by a small green lawn area and offers clean, well-appointed rooms. Other than being a bit boxed-in, the rooms are very admirable, each with the standard furniture and fittings that come with an establishment falling in this price category. Each room has a colour TV, fridge, wardrobe, good-looking bedspreads and framed paintings. The more expensive deluxe rooms are, as you'd expect, more appealing - not only do they have more space, they each come with additional comforts such as soft couches, a coffee table and larger-sized wardrobes. They're certainly worth the extra rupees.
