Lonely Planet Review
Total respite in central Paharganj is an impossible dream; however, there are a smattering of hotels that are situated a little away from the commotion of Paharganj's busiest strip, Main Bazaar. Prince Polonia is one such place.
This 27-room hotel is one of the better mid-range choices in the area, but keep in mind that Paharganj properties invariably fall in the no-frills category, so don't set your hopes on anything even remotely posh. The standard rooms have all the basic requirements such as a wardrobe, small table and couch and are generally OK apart from being compact and rather poorly lit. It's worth forking out a little extra to upgrade to the next category as these rooms come with a small balcony (the room is otherwise pretty much identical to the standard ones), which means more natural light. The hotel offers various services including Paharganj's most upmarket beauty parlour (for women and men) and a billiard table. There's a good rooftop restaurant, but those prone to vertigo should avoid peering over the edge!
