Lonely Planet Review
Bean Me Up is a feast of modern Goa on a surprisingly affordable plate. You can sleep in a comfortable room with touches of Indian luxury, enjoy gourmet vegetarian food in the courtyard restaurant, and have an ayurvedic oil massage, all in the self-contained world of Bean Me Up.
Bean Me Up is a very special place, where local foreigners come for live music and fresh food. There is a courtyard restaurant, a toy-filled kid's corner and an adult-oriented chill-out corner. Rooms with attached bathrooms demonstrate simple but thoughtful style and taste; decorative mosquito nets and bed covers to coordinate with curtains and wall hangings. Themes are reflected in the room names. Stay in the African Safari for a (perhaps geographically inaccurate) tiger-skin feel or the Emerald Forest for decadent green silk. The large hot water bathroom is separated from the sleeping room by a curtain. Budget rooms share clean cold water bathrooms. The courtyard restaurant offers healthy and hearty offerings under heaving parachutes and nets that catch lazy leaves. The gourmet vegetarian kitchen is the source of the room service, if you would like to enjoy a fresh cake on the communal balcony.
