Lonely Planet Review
A pleasant heritage-style building which is more than 200 years old, with a lovely restaurant on the verandah. It shares a garden with the Yoga Centre next door but the old style charm has been maintained exactly as the owner's Granpa intended when he built it.
Hotel Bougainvillea is shaded loveliness with high ceilings, an old pool table and a swimming pool in the lush garden. It's ideally situated a mere 10-minute drive from the beach, but is worlds away in style. The dense greenery surrounding the solid and sophisticated building gives it an entirely secluded feel. The laid-back pace of Granpas Inn is exemplified by the quaint eating area on the spacious veranda; a delectably civilised place for tea and cake after a morning yoga session. Old heritage houses in Goa are not rare, but this one is made particularly special by its association with the Brahmani Yoga Centre on the same grounds.
