Lonely Planet Review
This painter's paradise is an afterthought of the Kerkar Art Complex to which it is attached. The creativity of the complex infiltrates to these five rooms, which share a kitchen on each floor and a rooftop terrace. An Ayurvedic masseur is at hand too.
Kerkar retreat comes second to the art, and is the richer for it. The staircases leading to the rooms are embellished with the work of renowned local artist Subodh Kerkar, who has personally and tastefully decorated the rooms. Waves Restaurant, at the foot of Kerkar retreat and under the same creative management, is blissfully lit and celebrates art in every detail. Coasters are pottery paint palettes and glasses containing the serviettes also hold a few paintbrushes. Another inspired attribute of the guesthouse is the kitchen on each floor which gives guests access to a fridge, stove and basic cooking facilities. You can prepare your own meal and eat on the rooftop if you don't want to eat downstairs.
