Lonely Planet Review
On Ð De Tham, in the very heart of the Pham Ngu Lao backpacker area, Hotel 265 has a location and a sort of friendly aunty service that has made it a popular choice for years.
The rooms are classic Asian budget accommodation. They are functional: overhead fans above the beds, rooms not huge but adequately large, beds of varying softness but all with garishly coloured blankets, small desks adorned with plastic flowers, minibar and two shower heads in the bathroom - one for hot and one for cold. Front rooms are the larger, and have a small balcony enclosed by glass that keeps out much of the noise from busy Ð De Tham. There is no lift for the seven storeys - so many, many stairs! Manageress Mrs Loan speaks English and Japanese and is both friendly and helpful - in our experience her advice was both good and without agenda. Rates include a simple breakfast and can be reduced by a couple of dollars if you opt against the air-con.
