Lonely Planet Review
Recent renovations to this hotel have made a enough of a difference to the interior style of the place to make you completely forget about the smudged grey tile-work of the exterior. Facilities are great and staff are super-efficient, generally speaking excellent English (which is not always a given in this area).
The newly groomed 'Executive' rooms make a good impression with their big snow-white beds and hi-tech extras like wall-mounted, slimline LCD screens. These rooms are quite a bit more expensive than the hotel's other two tiers of room, so you'll need to decide whether cost or comfort is your priority when you make your booking. Additional enticements at the Empire include an outdoor pool atop the building and a decadent little lobby bar with a well-stocked humidor to ransack. This hotel is ideal for either business trips or leisurely escapes. Stays of several days or more can be subject to great discounts.
