Lonely Planet Review
This waterfront monolith is one of Hong Kong's prestige hotel addresses, with breathtaking views of the boat-cluttered harbour and the city. The hotel's interior was undergoing major renovations when we visited, with rooms to be decked out in a mixture of business-like greys and browns, and oriental golds.
It's a shame, however, that the overhaul won't extend to the Hotel Inter-Continental's exterior, which is going to persist with its scorched-earth appearance. If you simply must have the best, book the Presidential Suite, touted to be the city's largest hotel suite and equipped with its own private terrace and an 'infinity' pool; these pools don't appear to have an edge, but make it seem as if you're sitting atop a waterfall. The hotel's lavish refurbishments extend to all its bars and restaurants, though its trademark attentive service - need a Rolls Royce in a hurry? - needs no improvement.
