Lonely Planet Review
Star Guest House has spread itself over several floors of a building in a quintessential Kowloon backstreet, a narrow thoroughfare festooned with signage and shuddering with foot traffic. This is a typical Hong Kong guesthouse in form - tiny rooms squeezed into a series of converted apartments - but it's much better kept than most.
There are no great surprises here in terms of room size, with 'tiny' being the operative word, but each of the guest rooms comes with its own television, telephone and private bathroom, which is a pretty good deal considering the price and the location in downtown Tsim Sha Tsui. If you discover that all the worthy rooms here are taken, take heart in the fact that the owner (a Mr Charlie Chan) runs another guesthouse nearby.
