Sari Konak Oteli is a bright and light renovated hotel with beautiful quality antiques and carpets throughout. Any place that can keep its white sofras (low tables) this squeaky-clean has to be fastidiously clean. Charge your glasses to the drycleaners! The location is great too: within walking distance to all the sights.

Sari Konak also has top-grade facilities. There's a lovely stone-walled courtyard and a sofra-lined sitting room with a small bar. The terrace upstairs has excellent views, a graceful white-cotton-draped ceiling providing shade, and white sofra lounges. What better place to watch the sunset? We also loved the attention to detail at Sari: the ornate timber door hiding the modern lift doors, and the quirky plush-wallpaper-clad lift which would make even the fittest prefer to ride it. The rooms are lovely too, if a little less gracious than the rest of the place. The standard rooms are also a bit small for the price, though the bathrooms are roomy. The deluxe rooms are the best value: 203 with its bay window stuffed with a comfy couch is our favourite. The service is friendly and flawless.
