Lonely Planet Review
The modern Soaltee Crowne Plaza is one of the largest hotels in Nepal, with lovely palatial grounds, excellent facilities and some of the best restaurants in town. A solid choice. No other accommodation in Kathmandu comes close to the Soaltee's sense of space, with a full 11 acres of grounds - you'll have to look hard to find the tennis courts.
Facilities include a health club, swimming pool, casino, bowling alley and wi-fi Internet. The 283 rooms are modern and comfortable, in two huge wings, and offer excellent value for money. Surrounding the lovely swimming pool area is the stylish Bukhara Restaurant, bringing a touch of Peshawar to Kathmandu, with the best northwestern Indian food in town. Work up an appetite with a drink by the pool and a stroll in the grounds, but make sure you take a map.
