Just nuzzling into the mid-range bracket, this child-friendly place is an old-school bungalow resort that has moved upmarket. The grounds are thoughtfully laid out and bungalows have shell-mosaic mirrors and big windows allowing in plenty of light.

Families choose this place for the kids' play area, child-friendly colours and serious-sized pool. The big, bright bungalows have wood or tiled floors and imaginative bathrooms with shell-studded decor, pot plants and natural light wells. The beach bar and restaurant looks out over a powdery sand beach with bathtub-warm water and a single row of swaying palms for shade. At the end of the day, it's a no nonsense family resort - not really one for budget travellers or party people. Plenty of neighbouring resorts charge twice as much for similar facilities and less atmosphere.
