Lonely Planet Review

Quotes The Hotel Florida is a blip on the radar of an otherwise rent-by-the-hour hotel strip. It is a welcome relief for those who want simple, clean, no-surprises accommodation in the Brickfields area, away from town.

For those who want to stay a little further from the hustle of central KL, Hotel Florida in Brickfields is a good option. It's nothing fancy (in fact the 2003 refurb of the lobby is already looking a little dowdy), but staff here are very attentive and the in-house services, such as laundry, are swift and well priced. Many of the rooms don't have a window, but they are well appointed with minibar, TV and a sizable bathroom. There is a hotel restaurant, but the staff know the area well and will point you in the right direction if you want to explore some of Brickfield's South Asian fare. The rest of KL is a swift and scenic monorail ride away.
