Lonely Planet Review

Quotes Over 400 spacious rooms and suites are contained in this vertigo-inducing tower that overlooks the venerable Palacio de Justicia. Abstract designs and muted desert tones unify the public and private spaces, with convenient amenities geared for business travellers. The free shuttle to the Larcomar shopping mall in Miraflores is a plus.

While it may not be up to the same standards as other Sheraton properties around the world, and although you'll find classier hotels in the suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores, you can't do better than this in central Lima. Some find the arrangement of rooms around an empty central atrium ghostly, others artistic. Regardless, expect some ambient noise. The deluxe Tower Rooms have been recently remodeled, so try to score one; rates for those include a complimentary buffet breakfast and afternoon snacks and cocktails. All rooms have air-con, satellite TV, international direct-dial telephones and free in-room Internet access. If you're sleepless from jet-lag, there's a 24-hour casino, as well as a outdoor swimming pool, lighted tennis court, workout room and small spa. The basement shopping arcade carries Peruvian music CDs and alpaca wool scarves and sweaters.

Author Tip

Start your morning off right with a trip to Panko's, a vintage bakery with display cases full of temptingly sweet and fresh-and-healthy breakfast choices, plus a full espresso bar. From the hotel, walk north to Avenida Roosevelt, then turn left and walk two blocks west to the intersection with Avenida Garcilosa de la Vega.
