Lonely Planet Review
Housed in a restored 18th-century building and with a wonderful facade-like mural on its north side, this charming hotel offers a touch of class to one of central Madrid's less attractive streets. The Puerta del Sol is a short stroll away, however, making this terrific value in a central location.
Rooms are quiet and come with attractive parquet floors and private balconies that look onto the busy street below and down to the Puerta del Sol. Everything about the rooms is spacious - floor space, work areas for those on business (every room includes free ADSL Internet access for those toting laptops) and the bathrooms which have designer fittings. Satellite TV, room service, comfortable beds, attentive staff and a photocopy and fax service round out what is an excellent deal - try finding such value in any other European capital and you'll quickly discover that this is as good as it gets.
