Lonely Planet Review
Minimalist and modern, the new Bauzá would be right at home in SoHo, New York. Neutral colours set a soothing tone, and rooms are bright and airy. There are darkish wood floors, light greys and blues, strategically placed pillars, open spaces and occasional flashes of originality like Indian textile prints in some rooms.
Computers, plants, sound systems and designer lamps add to the appeal without crowding the rooms. There's a well-equipped gym for exercise, an attractive bar for more leisurely evenings and a library to exercise the mind. Unlike other four-star hotels, you get the feeling that this hotel is a family concern, and it shows in the friendly service and attention to detail. The restaurant (equally modern and minimalist) serves excellent food and many light dishes. Perhaps best of all is the location - one of the liveliest streets in the exclusive Salamanca barrio where wealthy Madrileños shop and dine out. You're also close enough to the main sights by Metro, but far from the madding crowd of tourists.
