Lonely Planet Review
Hostel Metropol is the sort of place that's always full of young travellers. It's not that the rooms are great. In fact, they're simple and don't have a whole lot of character. But travellers congregate here for that special something that few hostels have - an attitude, a young vibe, a chilled ambience.
The rooms aren't at all bad. They're well-kept, some have street views, most have private bathrooms and the price (which includes breakfast and Internet) is outstanding given the central location. It's just that you won't want to spend too much time in the rooms themselves because there's so much happening elsewhere. Take the sitting room and dining area for example. Here you'll find art exhibitions, almost as much tourist information as the tourist office possesses and young staff that merge seamlessly with the travellers. Add a few comfy chairs, an inclusive attitude, picnic lunches, a laundry and a hint of alternative, streetwise advice and you'll soon discover why it's so popular with young travellers.
