Lonely Planet Review
Run by travellers for travellers, this is one of the coolest places in town if you don't mind all the clamour of the many daily and nightly comings and goings - there's no curfew and the dorms are tightly packed.
There's plenty of information for travellers, a young crowd and the added bonus of air-conditioning in every room and 'private' bathrooms for some of the six-bed dorms. There are also a few four-bed rooms that are quieter than the 12-bed variety that face onto the street; the latter are great for those who can sleep through anything. The cheerful colours throughout are another highlight and natural light floods most of the rooms. Other features include Internet access, a well-equipped kitchen and an intimate sitting area overlooking the street. A stone's throw from the Plaza del Sol, you're also as central as can be in Madrid, which adds to the sense that this is great Madrid base for budget travellers.
