Lonely Planet Review
Simple, stylish and elegant, at first sight Casa Lalla seems like a typical, top-class Marrakchi riad (town house), but with a Michelin-starred chef in the kitchen it also offers a unique gastronomic experience. This is certainly one place where you'll want to consider the all-inclusive package.
Before setting up home in Marrakesh, Richard Neat had already earned himself two Michelin stars. It's lucky for Marrakesh then that he has now decided to settle in the Medina. The riad, and its eight rooms, is a tranquil beige-on beige affair, but it is the evening invitations to dinner that loom large on the daily calendar. Guests must book a table and are presented with an invitation to dine at 20:00. It is unforgivable to be late when you consider that Richard has spent the morning in the market crafting his menu and then the afternoon in the kitchen creating the evening's courses. The menu is never the same - Richard cooks according to his inspiration and what is available at the market. Whatever it is, it is always a tantalising surprise until it is presented by Sophie, who elegantly and effortlessly hosts the evening.
