Lonely Planet Review
Dar Baraka Karam and Dar Baraka are two cleverly interconnected houses with a fabulous communal roof terrace. Both riads (town houses) are modest in size - each has five rooms - and have a charmingly intimate ambience fostered by the simple, stylish decor.
This striking pair of houses represent great value for money and are a fantastic little bolt hole for romantic couples or groups of friends planning a party. Each house has an attractive small patio styled with potted olive trees, trained creepers and drooping white bouganvillea. Rooms are simple, comfortable and stylish - squashy square French pillows and cool white linen are offset by deep-pile lipstick-red Berber rugs. The only drawback in high summer is the lack of air-con. The most popular room in spring and winter (not advisable in summer) is the room on the terrace of Dar Baraka given its three large French windows and breezy atmosphere. Best of all, however, is the jigsaw-like roof terrace with its varied social spaces - fantastic for parties, even better for those romantic evenings snuggled up under the stars.
