Lonely Planet Review
Meryanne Loum-Martin undoubtedly has the Midas touch. A-list celebrities like Brad Pitt, Giorgio Armani and David Bowie flock to Jnane Tamsna like moths to a flame. It's grand yet low-key, uber-stylish yet down-to-earth, and tranquil without ever being boring. How does she do it?
Jnane Tamsna stands out from the crowd for its very special atmosphere. Like some South American hacienda, the villa is surrounded by a six-acre farm that sets the stage for the jigsaw of elegant patios and terraces. Giorgio must have been impressed with the clean lines, the soaring arches and the elegant polyethnic furnishing. Meryanne has said she wanted it to feel like a country home, and it does. But the icing on the cake is what Gary and Meryanne personally bring to the house - the organic food, the support for conservation and local developments, and Meryanne's guru-like shopping advice. Literary salons are the latest event - I bet Esther Freud and William Dalrymple were rubbing their hands with glee at their invitations.
