Regularly topping the Japan youth-hostel popularity poll, this beautiful hilltop spot is famous for its immaculate dorms, stellar service and communal atmosphere. It's also a great base for multiple visits to Dogo Onsen as it's only a 10-minute walk up the hill east of the complex. Although you might get lucky, reservations are almost mandatory. Meals and draught beer are available.
