Opposite a small park on a quiet residential street, the Garden Hotel offers a welcome respite from the noise and bustle on Colaba Causeway. Staff even set out chairs on the front steps in the evening where you can watch the world go by. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the main attractions of Colaba, but in exchange, you get peace and quiet and better facilities for your money. Don't be put off by the tacky waterfall and chandeliers in the lobby - rooms are tastefully decorated, with understated marble bathrooms, TVs, fridges and air-con. Downstairs is a tiny restaurant serving tea and snacks, or you can visit one of the many gourmet eateries at the north end of Colaba Causeway.
