Lonely Planet Review

Quotes Sharing a building with the Oberoi, the Hilton Towers lords over Nariman Point. Facilities are glorious and the hotel boasts a massive arcade of swish boutiques and several of the city's finest restaurants. Expect water features, bowls of floating flowers and picture windows looking out over the ocean.

A strong rival to the Taj Mahal Palace, this deluxe downtown hotel's looming white tower conceals airy open spaces and bubbling water features, and the rooms have plenty of little luxuries that raise this hotel above the competition. Guests at the Hilton Towers like to live well - the India Jones and Frangipani restaurants (serving pan-Asian and Italian cuisine respectively) serve some of the best food in Mumbai, and businessmen talk shop in the sophisticated Opium Den bar. Other point-scoring features include the sea views, a rooftop pool, several completely non-smoking floors and a vast arcade of shops and boutiques, shared with the Oberoi next door. It's one of the best downtown choices - all the attractions of south Mumbai are right on its doorstep.

Author Tip

With miles of shopping arcades, shared with the Oberoi, you can shop for saris and souvenirs for days. Nariman Point has an art gallery, a top-notch multiplex cinema and several souvenir emporiums, but there's more action on Veer Nariman Rd in Churchgate, a short walk north along Marine Drive. It's not much further to Fort or Colaba.
