Stealing the best of the views from the Strand Hotel downstairs, Harbour View benefits from a rooftop restaurant, gigantic rooms and panoramic sea views. You pay a premium for this, but the location, views and facilities add up to a good package.
Harbour View earns points for its relaxing rooftop restaurant with sweeping harbour views. Rooms are some of the best in the locale and the waterfront location is quieter than you might expect, but staff can be a little aloof and you are paying more for the views. All rooms have fridges, TVs, air-con and plenty of open floor space. The hotel takes up the top few floors of the same building as the Strand Hotel (make sure you enter through the right door) and Internet access is available in the lobby. Note that the hotel charges 20% tax on top of the room rates.

Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant watching the boats in the harbour is a highlight of staying at the Harbour View. It's just a short walk along the waterfront to the Gateway of India and an impressive selection of bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets. Stick to the waterfront to evade the persistent hawkers on Colaba Causeway.
