The Hôtel Les Cigales, whose name translates to 'the cidadas', is a cheerful little boutique establishment just a couple of minutes' walk from the promenade des Anglais and the beach.
Small but bright and chirpy and exceptionally clean, the Hôtel Les Cigales's 19 rose-toned air-conditioned rooms are accented with red and gold brocades. Lustrous mosaic bathrooms have backlit mirrors, bathtubs, and one (room 6) has a barrier-free shower for wheelchairs, though no toilet rails. There is a fully-equipped wheelchair toilet adjoining the reception area on the ground floor. Rooms 7 and 8 have twin sets of French doors opening to Juliet balconies, but anyone can access the outdoor terrace/sundeck with umbrellas shading timber outdoor furniture (it's locked in winter, but ask for a key). Also in shades of rose, the breakfast room is tucked away in the basement, where the continental buffet is bountiful.
