Lonely Planet Review

Quotes Old fashioned corridors with ornate cornices and baskets of dried and silk flowers open to 13 bright, airy, sun-washed rooms with lofty ceilings and quirks like oval-shaped windows (all are double-glazed) and angular bathrooms. Your room might have an embossed timber bed and Provençal paintings, or starfish and sea shell-printed curtains, with framed photographs of the ocean, or perhaps smart striped bedspreads and gold damask drapes; and, for a little extra, a view over the city. Online computers and wi-fi are both available, it's only a little extra to have a fridge in your room (which already has a TV, a phone, and air-conditioning). All rooms attract a 20% low-season discount. Plus, pets are welcome and there's on-site parking.

Author Tip

Two doors down from Hôtel de la Buffa you'll find the Marche de la Buffa, a not-even-a-little-bit-touristy covered market that's open seven days where locals stock up on fresh fruit, vegetables, and a smorgasbord of regional specialties and delicacy items.
