Lonely Planet Review
This excellent-value 34-room budget hotel is around the corner from Place de la République, and within easy walking distance of the pubs, bars and restaurants of Ménilmontant. It's a family-run place and gay friendly.
Hyper-allergenics may think twice about staying here, though; there are at least a couple of cats on hand to greet you. In fact, so feline-friendly is this place that moggies appear in the portraits above the lobby desk and on the hotel's business card. Another great love here is vegetation. Potted plants bedeck the entranceway and lobby and even the wallpaper has a trailing ivy motif. A tiny lift accommodating only two people (or perhaps one rather stout person) links the ground floor with the guestrooms which are spread over five floors. Rooms are sparingly furnished but nothing is threadbare and everything is proper and propre (clean) Among the top room choices are Nos 5, 10, 13, 17 and 23, which are all corner rooms and boast two windows. One room is suitable for handicapped guests. Emails can be accessed for free from the computer in the lobby.
