Lonely Planet Review
This clean, comfortable and sociable place is on a quiet street between Jl Penang and Love Lane. There's a TV room, a balcony for sunbathing and pricier air-con doubles are also available.
This relatively small hostel, with just 20 rooms, is tucked away down a narrow road behind the far busier Lebuh Chulia, although it is still among Georgetown's more popular, and noisier, backpacker pads. Rooms are, as you would imagine, pretty basic affairs, with fans, small sinks and mirrors but not much else, while the scruffy dorms are a little cramped. The more expensive rooms with air-con and private bathroom are slightly preferable. It's a busy place with lots going on; movies are shown every night in the communal lounge, so this isn't, perhaps, the place to come if you're looking for peace and quiet.

Author Tip
You're in the centre of the city here. Lebuh Chulia is lined with backpacker cafes, bars are just a couple of minutes to the south and the Penang Museum and other top sights around 10 minutes' walk to the east.
