A part of the Best Western hotel chain, the Phuket Ocean Resort is quite good value for the amenities and ambience provided. Located on a hillside with a palmy view of the beach, the hotel feels like an establishment many times its price.
The sleek architecture goes well with the hillside, and the hotel doesn't seem out of place on this palm-studded hill. Rooms are large and well appointed, and have all the mod cons expected of a much more expensive hotel. Superior rooms have a veranda with a view of the pool and the ocean beyond it. The pool is arguably a more relaxing place to sunbathe than the beach - there are no wandering vendors selling hammocks, sarongs etc. Like all hotels in this chain, the Phuket Ocean Resort is family oriented and has a babysitting service for couples who decide they need a relaxed night on the town.
