Lonely Planet Review
Don't let the word 'resort' fool you - this is in fact a smallish, even cosy, establishment anchored firmly in the lower midrange price bracket. Located on a lane about half a kilometre south of the Th Bangla fun zone, Blue Ocean Resort is a good choice for those who want to be fairly central but without the noise of Th Rat Uthit.
Both rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated with teak-tone furniture, panelling and trim, giving some atmosphere and setting the hotel apart from other similarly priced options. Rooms are clean and have the typical glazed tile floors, but amenities such as the refrigerator have been cleverly hidden in wooden cabinets - the type of touch that you would expect in more expensive establishments. Bathrooms have been given some imaginative detailing, including natural rock walls and flagstone floors in the shower area.

Author Tip
Have your wild nights in Patong but nurse your hangovers in a room that won't make you feel depraved and depressed. If you're feeling knackered, get a cheap massage along this street before heading to the beach and plopping down with a book.
