Quotes This grand and boldly pink 19th-century building sits in one of the quieter corners of Josefov, a stone's throw from the river. The large restful rooms are tastefully furnished, and a vague Italian style is maintained throughout, including a top class restaurant in the basement.

This little corner of the old Jewish quarter is probably as peaceful as you're going to get in central Prague, and the stylish Bellagio with its jaunty pink facade offers an oasis of calm just a short walk from some of the city's main tourist sights. Located opposite the baroque Church of St Simon and St Jude, this recently refurbished hotel is full of stylish Italian furnishings and fabrics. Thankfully the decor in the 46 rooms is restrained and tastefully done, almost to the point of minimalism in some cases, and all feature the expected amenities, including free Internet connection. Four of the rooms are fitted for disabled access. There's a pleasant little lobby bar, and in the brick-vaulted cellar is one of Prague's top Italian restaurants, Ristorante Isabella, especially famous for its inventive seafood dishes. A babysitting service is offered too.

With highly regarded Italian restaurant Isabella in the hotel cellar, and La Scène, one of the city's finest French restaurants, just a few doors along, gourmets won't be disappointed. The River Vlatava and the Convent of St Agnes, with its exhibition of medieval art, are just 5min walk away, and the several sites of the Jewish Museum are scattered around the streets to the south.
