The Willow Apartment

Lonely Planet Review

Quotes Three separate 16th-century buildings along Nerudova have been converted into elegant rooms and apartments. Smaller rooms are a little cramped, and most have shared bathrooms, but all are comfortable and nicely decorated, and the management is laid back and helpful.

As the name suggests, you're right at the foot of Prague Castle here, an enviable location at remarkably low prices. Redolent with history and personality, the buildings which make up the hotel have a number of unique rooms and suites with different dimensions and price tags. The management can arrange single or double beds for you as you wish. Most rooms are spacious and sunny, and all have polished wood floors, antique furniture, pot plants and attractive views. Some can be interlinked to make larger apartments. Suites have private kitchens, as, surprisingly, does the smallest and cheapest room.

Author Tip

Hilly Nerudova is one of the busiest and most evocative streets in Malá Strana, famed for its historic architecture and colourful house signs, and lined with pubs and restaurants. Prague Castle is a 10min uphill, while pretty Malostranské námestí is five minutes downhill. Here you'll find the gorgeous St Nicholas Church, and lots more eating and drinking options, including trendy Square.

Curious Fact

Mozart and Casanova were among the prestigious bygone visitors.
