Lonely Planet Review
Casa Howard (Howard's House) is a gem. Fine fabrics abound and the paintings perfectly suit the individual colour schemes in the 10 striking rooms (five at Via Capo le Case and five at Via Sistina 149). The location is great in both cases, there's a Turkish bath and breakfast is delicious.
A masterclass in interior design, Casa Howard's rooms run the gamut. You've got floral chintz gone mad in the Flower Room (Via Sistina), full-on 1970s retro - scarlet walls, zebra-print fabrics - in the Zebra Room (Via Sistina), and oriental chic - crimson silk curtains, brocade bedspread - in the Chinese Room (Via Capo le Case). Rooms are all eye-catching but some are small (the Chinese Room, in particular) and three have their private bathrooms separate from the guestroom. No problem, just don the kimono and slippers provided. There are Turkish baths at both locations. Breakfast is expensive but delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice, cornettos and honey from the owner's farm in Tuscany.
