The only dorm in town and one of the best in the country, Casa Frolaz is an eat-off-the-floor-clean type of place. It's in the home of Javier Díaz, a descendant of one of the oldest families in the country, who also happens to be a great host. Two common areas - a cozy book-filled living room and a leafy garden with hammocks and chairs - are ideal for relaxing. Guests also have use of a sunny kitchen and a cranky washing machine.

Two dorms have seven twin beds and one bathroom between them. The only downside is the long walk into town.
