Lonely Planet Review
A simple, no-frills guesthouse, the Nonaka is clean and friendly. All rooms are nonsmoking, and the ample kitchen is available for guests to use at any time. Common areas are expansive and there is one computer for Internet access. It's a small place, so call ahead for reservations.
Rates here are a bargain, especially for one-week or one-month stays. All rooms are tatami-floored and equipped with televisions, but baths and toilets are shared. The biggest drawback of the Guest House Nonaka is its slightly inconvenient location - the nearest subway station, not to mention most of Sapporo's sights, is at least a 10min walk away. The neighbourhood is very quiet, however, so those needing a peaceful place to relax or study will find the Nonaka a nice fit. In winter, prices include an additional heating charge.

Author Tip
There's nothing immediately near the Guest House Nonaka - in fact, it's equally distant from Susukino's nightlife, bars and ramen (noodle) shops, and the various pastoral pleasures of Odori Park. For access to other sights in Sapporo, it's best to take the subway.
