Lonely Planet Review

Quotes There's nothing special about the rooms at the KKS, and it's inconveniently located a whole train stop away from most of the action, but its price and fantastic free breakfast make it a contender for the best deal in Sapporo. During Yuki Matsuri (Snow Festival), it's often still available when other places are booked.

This is a basic but friendly business hotel that's got an amazing morning breakfast - a variety of Japanese foods, morning sarada (salad), several types of rolls, plus fruit, hot mains and Japanese pickles. If you're getting tired of rice balls or nothing at all, head here for a real meal. Service is nice, nonsmoking rooms are available, and there are LAN ports for those who've toted along a notebook computer. All in all, it's a super deal for anyone who doesn't mind a taxi ride or subway trip home.

Author Tip

There's really nothing immediately close here, aside from shopping at Jusco. Your best bet is to hop on the train and hit Otaru, a quick 30min away, where there are beautiful canals and shopping. Or head in the other direction back into central Sapporo.
