Lonely Planet Review

Quotes Ino's Place is not as close to Sapporo JR Station as it could be, but that's made up for by the lack of curfew and the helpful, English-speaking staff, who pride themselves on their knowledge of local events and have sightseeing suggestions. There are dorms and private rooms.

It's a friendly hostel-type place with a nice common area where you can eat breakfast, chat with new friends or play board games. Western-style facilities (including free coffee and tea) and Internet access (charged by the minute) make it easy to feel at home. During Yuki Matsuri (Snow Festival), expect Ino's Place to be packed, so make reservations early if need be. Unlike many places in Sapporo, both Visa and MasterCard are accepted here...cash too, of course.

Author Tip

You really have to hop on the subway to get to Sapporo's sights - Susukino is closest, or Odori Park. Another possibility is to get off at the Bus Center and walk east to the river: depending on the season you might see herons, egrets, wagtails, ducks or geese.
