Lonely Planet Review

Quotes This deluxe, stylish hotel has a full-size swimming pool, sauna and athletic training room. Some of the nicer rooms even have a bath tub with city views. But be careful when you ask for a nonsmoking room: while there are a limited number reserved for real non-smokers, management seems to feel that an air-cleaner is almost the same thing.

Just a few blocks away from the station, the Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo sometimes has amazing deals that bring the price of a single down by thousands of yen, a steal when you consider you're getting all the luxuries of a top-end hotel. Most of the time, however, prices are hefty - hardly surprising given what kind of hotel it is. The rooms vary considerably in amenities and price - some have massage chairs, air-purifiers and bathrooms with large windows overlooking the city. The pool is enormous, and various fitness rooms, personal trainers, massages and facial treatments are available.

Author Tip

The Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo is close to everything: meander through the Botanical Garden, head north to the greenery of Hokkaido University's campus grounds, or south to Odori Park, which is pretty any time of year.
