Lonely Planet Review
The Central Park is a perky, snazzy corner hotel that makes extra efforts to keep the guests coming back. To whit: fresh fruit and mints for guests in the reception area, bottled water free of charge when you arrive and free local phone calls. And that's before you realise you're getting a very comfortable, tidy and stylish modern room for a bargain rate.
The rooms themselves are kitted out with sombre dark carpet, trendy feature walls, blonde wood, good storage facilities and clean whiter-than-white linen - a very smart way to spend some time near verdant Hyde Park. Plus there are fortune cookies on your pillow. You might be tempted to score a corner room, and while these will give you a glimpse to the said park, you're also going to cop the brunt of traffic noise from this rather busy intersection. If you need to really stretch out the loft rooms are great: get one on Park St (it seems quieter than Castlereagh) and make full use of the clever space configuration.
