Lonely Planet Review
Attractive, recently renovated rooms heal over-travelled bones at this almost-hip boutique hotel, nicely located right near Hyde Park. All 38 modern rooms have kitchenette, telephone, safe and Internet connection. A three-bedroom apartment is also available. Parking and breakfast cost extra.
When we popped in, there was a flurry of construction activity taking place, but we got a peek at a completed room and we were impressed. The attractive exterior of this corner-placed multistorey building is now matched by an equally smart interior. Standard studio apartments feature flattering lighting and soundproofed windows in addition to the aforementioned mod cons and plenty of neutral tones with maroon accents. Staff are keen to find the best deal for guests, and are reluctant to dispense rack-rate info, so ask what they can do for you except at Mardi Gras time, when, like many places in this area (just off the start of Oxford St), prices skyrocket.
