Lonely Planet Review
You'll be left with no doubt that this boutique landmark wants to make an impression when you walk into reception. A huge replica of Caravaggio's Medusa dominates the room and a bowl of highly polished ruby-red apples invites a Snow White chomp. Service comes straight out of the textbook - courteous, eager to please and demonstrating plenty of forethought.
This 18-room hotel is pure Sydney - glamorous, well-situated, a little bit flashy, a lot sexy, highly professional and splendidly decadent. You could lose yourself (or any number of people) in the king-size beds here, and when you suss out the luxury trappings, gifts (Aveda toiletries are provided in the bathrooms) and features of each room, you'll never want to leave. It's popular with affluent gay travellers, design buffs and business travellers (you can hire a separate office if you need to work) and deservedly so. If you have a room surrounding the courtyard's fountain, you'll be serenaded by the tinkling water. Other rooms have a mix of different aspects (some have none at all), but they're all supremely comfortable. Our only gripe is the lack of DVD players in the rooms - surely it's time to make the switch from VCRs?
