Lonely Planet Review
This idyllic, beautifully situated hostel, a couple of kilometres south of the Basin, is noted for its considerate management and the surrounding friendly wildlife (birdwatchers will really get a kick out of the experience). Book well ahead and bring food and your own sheets.
This is certainly not Sydney's flashest hostel, but it is a truly memorable escape from the frenetic pace of daily life in the CBD and is an incredible bargain given the almost-pristine natural beauty and sense of solitude that surrounds this spot. That said, the shared lounge is a lovely place to unwind in the evening and socialise with your fellow guests, and the simple bedrooms are perfectly comfortable. It's a small, intimate place, where the main diversions are natural, and your fellow guests are just wanting to chill out. This is a very special place indeed - shame it's a bit of a chore to get to and often booked out!
