This hotel's attractive (replica) colonial style, convenient central location and value for money regularly bring tour-group planners knocking at the door. Airy rooms around a pretty courtyard compensate for a few too many guest rules.

There is good news for giants at Hotel Nuevo Boston. No need to stoop here with its high ceilings and doorways. Your lempiras will fetch you floral bed-spreads, patterned shower curtains and bathrooms that are just as spick as they are span. Cookies, coffee and cream are also on the house. You are expected to keep up appearances here though - wear your shirt and shoes if you venture outside your room. Oh, and don't plan on any drunken evenings in the communal rooms - alcohol is not allowed there, apart from, perhaps, a Christmas tipple. Rooms looking out onto the street have a balcony but they are not worth the extra price - they tend to be noisier, and the balconies too small to hang out on.
