This rather incongruous hotel looks like a cross between the White House and a Greek temple. Behind the Corinthian and Doric capitals it offers 37 spacious and simply furnished rooms. Views to the Bogd Khan mountain are excellent. Facilities include a small fitness centre that charges a hefty hourly rates.

The Continental is located south of Peace Ave, in a developing area of gated condos and embassies. You can walk to the Square from here in about 10 minutes. While supposedly one of the most modern hotels around, we noticed ratty carpeting in the hallways and a general feeling of emptiness - a few potted plants would do wonders to spruce up the place. Rooms come with expected facilities, including IDD phone, Internet cable hook up, mini bar and cable TV. Suites also include a little kitchenette. The over-embellished Venus restaurant on the first floor serves European food and occasionally hosts live jazz music. There is also a small bar, where the consultants who stay here sometimes pop in for a drink.
