Lonely Planet Review

Quotes One of the few consistently reliable hotels in the city centre that offers decent rooms at low rates. Bathrooms are spacious and the hotel workers do a great job with keeping the place clean. It has a billiards hall and breakfast buffet.

There is little to differentiate between the standard rooms and the half-lux, the latter is just a tad bigger. The lux has an extra room which might be useful if you are travelling with three people. The closest rival to the Guide House is the nearby Zaluuchuud, which has similar rooms at a similar price. Rooms at Guide House, however, are a little bigger and definitely better maintained. The downside to the hotel is its unpleasant location overlooking a trash heap. If possible, try to get a room that faces Dashchoilon, a nearby monastery.

Author Tip

The Children's Art & Creation Centre is home to a surprising museum that shows off the incredible art created by Mongolia's youngest sculptors and painters. Predominant themes include Mongol traditions and landscapes. The works have been made by youths under the age of 17.
